HOW TO BECOME AN AUTHORIZED TRAINING PROVIDER

As an Authorized Training Provider (ATP) or Virtual Authorized Training Provider (VATP), you’re equipped to market and deliver in-person and virtual COSS Series classes to customers and partners worldwide. TYPES OF AUTHORIZED TRAINING PROVIDERS

Authorized Training Providers (ATPs) – Companies authorized to market and deliver in-person and virtual COSS Series classes
Virtual Authorized Training Providers (VATPs) – Companies authorized to market virtual COSS Series classes only

IDEAL AUTHORIZED TRAINING PROVIDERS

Organizations such as safety councils, training centers and educational institutions with a high demand for safety and health training in their area.

Please Note: ATPs must have the ability to collect registrations and payments online, and must provide 2 solid credit references. They must also be able to actively promote the COSS Series brand as part of their business. In addition, ATPs must have a dedicated training room conducive to learning.

Step 1 – Review the basic requirements and general rules for becoming an Authorized Training Provider in your area

Basic requirements:

  • There is (or will be) a high demand for safety and health training in your area
  • There are no other active ATPs servicing your region.
  • You have the staff and administration available to successfully market the program (all new ATPs are provided with a COSS Media Starter Kit with helpful hints and marketing materials you may use)
  • You have the staff and administration available to successfully host COSS classes (a minimum of 3 classes per year must be scheduled, with at least 2 of those classes being held, unless an exemption is granted in the case of emergency situations)
  • You must be able to supply at least 2 solid financial credit references
  • Your company must possess a Federal Identification Number and be incorporated
  • Your company must have the financial wherewithal to meet the financial obligations required to hold COSS classes
  • Your company must agree to engage in an Authorized Training Provider’s Agreement with Alliance Safety Council (ASC).

Beome an Instructor

General rules an ATP must follow:
(this does not replace the guidelines set forth in the ATP Agreement):

  • All COSS classes must be scheduled through the ASC
  • All ATPs must charge a minimum tuition of $1,799 per student
  • All COSS course materials must be obtained exclusively through ASC
  • ATPs must confirm with ASC at least 7 business days in advance whether the COSS course will take place
  • ATPs must effectively market the COSS program to its members and customers, as well as to prospective members and customers
  • All COSS classes must be taught by instructors who are authorized and assigned by ASC
  • ATPs have the option to contract their own COSS instructor(s), provided that the instructor(s) has met the requirements, and has been approved by ASC (see COSS Instructor Requirements)
  • The facility in which the class is held must meet certain set up and multi-media requirements (as outlined in the ATP Agreement)
  • ATPs may set up COSS courses at other locations besides their approved training site; however, all remote site COSS courses must be pre-approved and coordinated through ASC

Step 2 – Complete an ATP application
