Upon completion of the COSS program, safety professionals will be able to:
Apply key safety and health organization standards on the job
Identify the components of an effective health and safety program
Determine the causes and effects of possible hazards in the workplace
Conduct or participate in audits, inspections, investigations, and job safety analysis
Effectively communicate and understand safety information
Upon completion of the COSM program, safety professionals will be able to:
Develop clear objectives, goals, strategies, and measures for integrating health and safety processes into the culture of the organization
Create methods for promoting occupational health and safety program initiatives to everyone in the organization by developing and communicating the safety message
Develop a comprehensive safety management system
Build a structure that measures, analyzes, and effectively manages aspects of risk
Apply techniques to manage injuries and illnesses
